Flying into one Istanbul airport and out of the other puts the whole city between your two flights. Our Istanbul Airport (IST) to Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) transfer takes you from the European side to the Asian side, 99 kilometres from terminal to terminal, in about 72 minutes. We meet you in the arrivals hall with a name board, and your bags go into the car once and stay there.

The useful thing about this drive is how little the clock moves it. Between the quietest hour we measured and the busiest, the difference is 9 minutes, so the hour you land hardly changes it. That makes it a journey you can plan a connection around.

There are two other ways across. The airport bus HVL-11 runs directly between the two terminals 22 times a day and is scheduled at 120 minutes, to which you add the wait for the next departure. Public transport takes 137 minutes on the M11 metro, the 251 bus and the M4 metro, which means changing twice with your luggage.
